A critical part of the ministry of AFHI is "speaking out to all people about physical and spiritual hungers." As such, AFHI is actively engaged in calling local churches and Christians worldwide back to their historic, Biblical responsibility to minister holistically and sacrificially on behalf of the needy within their own communities, and around the world.
To do this, AFHI contributes training resources, seminars and conferences aimed at impacting the relief and development, and missions / church planting communities.
It is also our desire to promote a deeper understanding of AFHI's "Vision of a Community" amongst AFHI staff directly and indirectly to impact individual Christians, churches and Christian organizations worldwide.
AFHI's training materials and resources are designed to fit within our "Vision of Community Tree" framework and have four primary foci:
- The importance of the Biblical worldview in advancing God's Kingdom. (Col. 1 :17-18)
- The importance of a comprehensive, holistic ministry in advancing God's Kingdom. (Col. 1:20)
- The importance of an incarnational ministry and lifestyle in advancing God's Kingdom. (Rom.13:14)
- The centrality of the local church in advancing God's Kingdom. (Eph. 3:10)
